Tribe Happenings - Design with Purpose: Students Using Creativity to Make a Difference

Posted Date: 4/17/25 (1:35 AM)

Students at Biloxi Jr. High are using their creativity and technology skills to connect with real-world challenges through two meaningful design projects in Mrs. Shoemake’s Cyber Foundations classes. In the Design for a Cause project, students created custom apparel mockups to raise awareness for causes and charities that matter to them—from environmental protection and mental health to animal rescue and medical challenges. Using research and digital design tools, students transformed personal passion into powerful visual messages.

In a second project, students applied their skills to a real-life need by designing “Adopt Me” flyers for local rescued animals in search of forever homes.

Through these hands-on projects, students are discovering how creativity, compassion, and technology can work together to make a lasting impact.
